Highland Park Ragnvald was released in 2013 as part of the duty-free range The Warrior Series. Which honors key figures from Orkney’s Viking history and also demonstrates the impact of cask type on the whisky’s flavour. This expression predominantly matured in sherry-seasoned European oak casks, resulting in a rich and succulent dram with notes of dark chocolate, candied peel, oriental spices and aromatic peat smoke. Ragnvald was a famous Viking pioneer. A gifted sailor, he undertook many expeditions into uncharted waters and is said to have reached as far as the Middle East and Asia.
