The Japanese distillery Chichibu was founded by Ichiro Akuto in 2008. In 2013 the distillery launched their ‘On The Way’ series, marking the distillery’s path to their first five-year-old single malt. This is the first release in the series, bottled in 2013. It consists of whisky from three different casks, including a five-year-old distilled in 2008. The whisky matured in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Japanese Mizunara Oak casks before being bottled at 58.5%. Only 9900 bottles of Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu On the Way 2013 were released.
