In 1820, John Walker opened a small grocery store in Kilmarnock, Scotland, at just 14 years old. This small business would grow into the legendary whisky brand we know and love today: Johnnie Walker. To celebrate their 200th anniversary, Johnnie Walker released four new bottlings. Blue Label Legendary Eight is a blend of rare whiskies from eight distilleries that were in operation when John Walker started blending his own Scotch whisky in 1820. Four of these have since closed, making their whisky very hard to come by: Brora, Cambus, Carsebridge and Port Dundas. The other four whiskies are from Blair Athol, Oban, Teaninich and Lagavulin. The exclusive blend was bottled in 2020 at 43.8%.
