Kilbeggan is a Beam-Suntory and Cooley whiskey cooperative. Yup: that’s the Americans, Japanese and Irish at the helm of one Irish whiskey brand. The name Kilbeggan goes back to as far as 1757 and, like with nearly all distilleries that are still or again operational in the old country, it changed ownership several times since that time. Cooley, one of the three biggest whiskey making companies in Ireland, acquired the name Kilbeggan and restarted production in 2007. This Kilbeggan 21 Years Old Irish Whiskey is an exciting blended whiskey that comes in a well crafted gift box. It contains well aged grain and malt whiskeys that were blended and matured in bourbon, port, sherry and madeira casks. You can bet that this is one complex whiskey that begs for a nice and quiet sippin’ time.
