Kilkerran 11 Years Old Sherry Cask Cadenhead is the first ever independent bottling of Kilkerran single malt from the newly-reopened Glengyle distillery. The whisky was distilled in 2007 and matured in a single sherry cask for 11 years. In July 2018, it was bottled by Cadenhead at 58.1% ABV. Only 564 bottles of Kilkerran 11 Years Old Sherry Cask Cadenhead were released. The Glengyle distillery was reopened in 2004 and is under the same ownership as the renowned Springbank distillery. The name Kilkerran comes from the Gaelic Ceann Loch Cille Chiarain, which literally means ‘head of the lake of Saint Kieran’s cell’ and refers to the original settlement where Campbeltown now stands.
