In 2020, Glengyle introduced a 16-year-old single malt to its core range. The maturation varies slightly for each annual release, creating a fresh take on the distillery’s oldest whisky each year. Kilkerran 16 Years Old 2025 matured in 60% bourbon and 40% sherry casks, and is bottled at 46%. Notes of prunes, marzipan and orange-infused chocolate introduce this dram. Vibrant and complex on the palate, there are notes of maraschino cherry syrup, liquorice, dates and star anise. Gentle peat smoke emerges, along with a hint of cinnamon toast. There is sea salt in the finish, with notes of hazelnuts, mint and morello cherries.
