A very rare and beautiful bottle of Knappogue Castle Irish whiskey. Knappogue Castle is not an actual distillery, but a brand that has sourced their whiskey from Irish distillers. There were little of them in the previous century, as many of them were forced to close down due to Irish prohibition and high taxes, both which made sales plummet. This Knappogue Castle 36 Years Old 1951 was made over 70 years ago at the old Tullamore Dew distillery that was operational from 1829 until 1954. The name DEW comes from the initials of general manager Daniel E. Williams (D.E.W.). In 2010 William Grant & Sons took over the brand. This is a 36-year-old piece of amazing Irish whiskey history. It comes in a wooden box that takes up two spaces in a parcel.
