Knockando was founded in 1898, at the end of the whisky boom of the late 19th century. It was designed by renowned distillery architect Charles Doig. The distillery was under the control of London-based gin producer W & A Gilbey from 1904 until 1962, when it merged with United Wine Traders (including Justerini & Brooks) to form International Distillers & Vintners. Today, Knockando is in the hands of spirits giant Diageo. Knockando 21 Years Old Master Reserve 1994 is the oldest release in the distillery’s core range. It gently matured for 21 years in first-fill and refill bourbon barrels and first-fill sherry casks. This exceptional single malt is well-balanced with rich fruity aromas on the nose, a great depth of flavour on the palate, and a long creamy finish.
