Lagavulin 16 Years Old Wooden Box is a limited-edition release of Lagavulin single malt. The whisky matured for 16 years and is bottled at 43% ABV. It comes in a rare wooden box that was released exclusively for the Italian market. The Lagavulin distillery was founded in 1816 by John Johnston, although there was illicit distillation happening on the site as far back as 1742. Lagavulin is known for its slow distillation speed, which is why the distillery’s slogan is ‘Time takes out the fire, but leaves in the warmth’.
