A new twist on Laphroaig’s classic 10-year-old expression, which has been finished for 12-18 months in Oloroso sherry casks for this March 2021 release. The Laphroaig distillery on Islay was founded in 1815 by the brothers Alexander and Donald Johnston. Ian Hunter was the last member of the Johnston family to run the distillery. When he died childless in 1954, he left Laphroaig to Bessie Williamson, the first female manager of a Scotch whisky distillery. In 2005, the distillery was acquired by Fortune Brands, which changed to Beam Inc. in 2011. Beam was purchased by the Japanese Suntory Holdings in 2014, creating Beam Suntory.
