Book 2: Building an Icon is the second release in The Ian Hunter Story collection, celebrating the legacy of the last member of the Johnston family to own and manage the Laphroaig distillery. Ian Hunter ran the Laphroaig distillery, founded by his family in 1815, between 1908 and 1944. According to Laphroaig, Ian Hunter was unique, distinctive and not for everyone. A bit like the whisky itself. Despite his polarising personality, Ian Hunter made Laphroaig what it is today: a whisky enjoyed the world over by a wide and diverse range of people. This 30-year-old single malt was distilled in 1989 and matured in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, before being bottled in 2020 at 48.2%. Only 4800 bottles have been released.
