Ledaig 2005 Spirits’ Shop Selection is a single cask whisky from the Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull. The whisky was distilled in 2005 and matured in ex-bourbon cask #900106. It was bottled in 2017 at an amazing cask strength of 63.6% The whisky was selected by La Maison du Whisky and bottled by the German independent bottler Sansibar in collaboration with Spirits’ Shop Selection in Taiwan. Tobermory is one of the oldest active distilleries in Scotland. It was founded in 1798 as the Ledaig distillery, meaning ‘safe haven’ in Gaelic. The distillery closed in 1930 due to the Prohibition in the United States, and only reopened in 1972. To this day, Tobermory is the only distillery on the Isle of Mull. Only 252 bottles of Ledaig 2005 Spirits’ Shop Selection have been released.
