Shake that Whisky! Ledaig Let’s Shake The Whisky Jury 2010-2020 is the 6th release from independent bottlers The Whisky Jury. The Ledaig distillery was founded back in 1797 in the quaint little town of Tobermory. Allegedly a Spanish ship full of gold sank off the coast and is buried somewhere in the mud at the bottom of the bay. There have been many attempts to locate the wreck and the lost gold but so far, no one has had any luck finding it. We’ll just have to content ourselves with the great whiskies coming out of Tobermory instead! Besides with only 288 bottles produced this might just be harder to find than a sunken Spanish treasure ship. The nose opens with peat, lemon and bread fresh out of the oven. The palate is earthy with dark chocolate, smoked almonds and peaches. The finish has a medicinal note with apples, soot and peat. And what’s with the ‘Let’s Shake’ label? Well, turns out that’s actually kind of how you pronounce Ledaig!
