Steve and Paul Beam founded Limestone Branch Distillery in 2010 in Lebanon, Kentucky, so that they could continue their family’s 220-year legacy of making bourbon. In 2015, Luxco took a 50 percent stake in their company, as Luxco was looking to make its entry on the booming craft bourbon market. They housed their Yellowstone brand at the Limestone Branch Distillery in 2015, where it is being made until this day.
These little bottles from the Limestone Branch Experimental Collection are quirky and particular to say the least. The Beam Brothers experimented with different mash bills (inherited from their forefathers?) and recipes. This Limestone Branch Experimental Collection – EBRA Select Mr M (Barrel No. 77) aged for 16 months and was made with 60% white corn, 28% wheat and 12% malted barley. It is bottled at 98 proof. EBRA stands for European Bourbon & Rye Association, making this some sort of a European rye whiskey.
