The first ever written reference to Scottish whisky was in 1494. The distillery name? Lindores Abbey. It is believed that monks were distilling aqua vitae at the site, the earliest form of whisky. The abbey, built over 500 years ago and now a ruin that survived the ages, is a monument to those days. This Lindores Abbey 1494 Inaugural Members Release is one out of 1494 bottles that were released to members that contributed to preserving the abbey and the whisky making tradition at the Lindores Abbey Distillery. It was bottled in 2021 at a fitting 49.4% ABV and comes with a miniature and two bags.
