Linkwood First Cask Series 11 Years Old 2009 is a single malt from the Speyside distillery Linkwood, released by the Dutch bottler Whisky Import Nederland as part of their First Cask series. The whisky was distilled in 2009 and matured for 11 years, spending a finishing period in a brandy cask. It was bottled in 2020 at a cask strength of 58.2%. The label features a painting of the Linkwood distillery in the style of Van Gogh. The Linkwood distillery is located on the outskirts of Elgin in the Speyside area. It is surrounded by a beautiful reservoir that’s the home of ducks and swans. As the legend goes, superstitious distillery manager Roderick Mackenzie believed the environment to be so important, he refused to change a single thing. Even spiderwebs couldn’t be removed, just in case it would negatively affect the whisky. While the cobwebs have since been removed, the distillery still takes great care to maintain the high quality of its whisky. Only 338 bottles of Linkwood First Cask Series 11 Years Old 2009 have been released.
