Littlemill 21 Years Old Hart Brothers Finest Collection Cask Strength 1992 is a rare vintage bottling from the closed Lowland distillery Littlemill, released by independent bottler Hart Brothers as part of the Finest Collection. The single malt was distilled in February 1992 and matured for 21 years in a first-fill sherry butt. It was bottled in September 2013 at a cask strength of 53%. The Littlemill distillery, located in Bowling near Dumbarton, was founded in 1772 on the site of an older brewery. It has been proven to be the first and oldest licensed whisky distillery in Scotland. In 1989, Littlemill was purchased by Gibson International. When they went bankrupt a couple of years later, the distillery was mothballed and sold to Loch Lomond. The buildings were dismantled in 1997, and what was left burned down in 2004.
