Littlemill was the first and oldest licensed whisky distillery in Scotland. It was founded in 1772, on the border of the Lowlands and the Highlands. Production ceased at the distillery in 1992, and a couple of years later the buildings were dismantled. Littlemill 27 Years Old Cadenhead’s 1992 is a rare single cask malt from the final vintage of Littlemill. The whisky matured for 27 years in a bourbon hogshead, and was bottled in April 2019, by Cadenhead for the Closed Distilleries range. Only 270 bottles were released. On the nose you’ll find aromas of old school tropical fruits with hints of dunnage warehouse. The palate has a waxy mouthfeel with bright citrus fruits. The finish is long with lingering syrupy fruit notes, a slight oiliness and a hint of damp earth.
