Littlemill 8 Years Old is a rare official single malt bottling from the closed Littlemill distillery, which operated intermittently between 1772 and 1994. Littlemill 8 Years Old is a classic Lowland malt, sweet and grassy with notes of tropical fruit and mild spice. The exact year Littlemill was founded is unclear. Distillation might have been taking place at the site as early as the 14th century! Around 1772, Littlemill was converted from an older brewery into a whisky distillery. The distillery received a license in the 1820s. Gibson International, Littlemill’s owner since 1989, went bankrupt in 1994. The distillery was then mothballed and sold to Loch Lomond. The buildings were dismantled in 1997, and what was left burned down in 2004. Littlemill’s remaining stock is managed by the Loch Lomond Group. Bottle and box are in perfect condition.
