Lochlea is a new cab off the rank in the whisky world with the Lochlea First Release Inaugural being their first product. Lochlea is a family owned, independent distillery that uses barley grown on the Lochlea farm and an onsite water source. It can also claim a direct connection back to the most famous Scot of all—Robert Burns. He lived at Lochlea Farm from 1777 to 1784 and worked the same land that now grows the barley used in this whisky. The nose is full of fresh orchard fruits and juicy orange notes, with hints of vanilla fudge and cereal. The palate is opulent with sweet flavours of burnt caramel and hazelnut. The finish retains the fruit flavours with a medium mouth coating.
