Longmorn 21 Years Old 1993 Chieftain’s is a limited-edition Longmorn single malt, released as part of the Chieftain’s Limited Edition Collection from independent bottler Ian Macleod. The whisky was distilled in May 1993 and matured for 21 years. It was finished in port pipes before being bottled in June 2014 at 46% ABV. The Longmorn distillery was founded in 1893 by John Duff & Company and started production a year later. John Duff bought out his partners in 1897 and built a second distillery called ‘Longmorn Number 2’ (now known as BenRiach). He went bankrupt not long after and James R. Grant, owner of the Glen Grant distillery, acquired the shares. The Longmorn distillery is currently in the ownership of Chivas Brothers (Pernod Ricard).The distillery is built on the site of a medieval chapel in the small village of Longmorn. Only 1064 bottles of Longmorn 21 Years Old 1993 Chieftain’s have been released.
