Longmorn 23 Years Old Double Cask Matured is a limited-edition single malt from the Speyside distillery Longmorn. The whisky matured for 23 years in a combination of American oak barrels and hogsheads. The Longmorn distillery was founded in 1893 by John Duff & Company and started production a year later. John Duff bought out his partners in 1897 and built a second distillery called ‘Longmorn Number 2’ (now known as BenRiach). He went bankrupt not long after and James R. Grant, owner of the Glen Grant distillery, acquired the shares. The Longmorn distillery is currently in the ownership of Chivas Brothers (Pernod Ricard). The distillery is built on the site of a medieval chapel in the small village of Longmorn.
