This is the 2020 edition of Longrow Red, a range that surprises on a yearly basis with red wine cask matured smokey Campbeltown single malts. Sounds like kissing a cougar in a dark alley pub. Tastes even better. The title of this page says most of it: this edition of the Longrow Red matured in Refill Malbec casks. The first 7 years it aged in bourbon barrels, followed by 3 years in refill Malbec barriques from the De Toren Private Cellar in Stellenbosch, South Africa. It’s bottled at a cask strength of 52.5%.
