The American oak imparts notes of delicate vanilla, orange, toffee, citrus and butterscotch to Macallan’s characteristic spirit of rich fruits and subtle spice, resulting in a harmonious single malt with a sweet and warm character. Macallan 18 Years Old Double Cask 2021 opens on the nose with aromas of dried fruits, ginger, toffee and rich orange, joined by hints of clove and nutmeg. The palate has rich notes of raisins, sultana, caramel, vanilla and ginger balanced by wood spice and zesty citrus, while the finish lingers with warm oak spice, ginger and sweet orange.
