La Maison du Whisky’s annual Artist range brings together the worlds of whisky and visual arts. The 2015 edition features works from the surreal collagist Albane Simon. Macallan Over 20 Years Old LMDW Artist #4 1990 matured for over 20 years in hogshead #15827 and saw a limited release of just 97 bottles. The single malt has a fresh, elegant nose with aromas of green barley, exotic fruit and creamy vanilla, before turning to camphor, saline, nutmeg, heady flowers and candied lemon. Flavours of fresh fruit, slate, cream, brioche and almonds develop on the palate. The finish is long on fresh barley, liquorice and pineapple.
