Masthouse is a single estate whisky from the Copper Rivet distillery in Kent. The distillery’s inaugural batch was distilled in 2017 and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and virgin American oak casks. 2000 bottles were released in November 2020. The Copper Rivet distillery was founded in 2016 in Chatham, Kent. The name of its single malt is inspired by the craft of ship mast-making Chatham’s Royal Dockyard, where the distillery is located. The whisky is distilled following the Invicta Whisky Charter, a declaration of high standards created by the distillery. All grains have to be grown in Kent, and all parts of the production process have to be carried out in-house. In addition, the label states the type of grain variety used, the name of the field, and the barrel numbers that went into the bottle. Masthouse Pot Distilled is the first of three core expressions. Upcoming releases are a column distilled malt and a column distilled grain whisky.
