Michel Couvreur Blossoming Auld Sherried is a unique single malt from French whisky producer Michel Couvreur, distilled in Scotland and matured in sherry oak casks in Burgundy. Michel Couvreur began maturing Scotch whiskies in high-quality sherry casks in 1978. The precious barrels are stored in an old wine cellar in Burgundy, dug out from a cave by Michel himself. After Michel passed away in August 2013, his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and his cellar master Jean-Arnaud Frantzen, took over management of the company. Michel Couvreur Blossoming Auld Sherried, has a lovely sherried nose with aromas of dark fruits, raisins, maple syrup, black cherries, caramel, tobacco, cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate has a warm and velvety mouthfeel and displays notes of raisins, cinnamon stick, dried orange peel, spicy oak, roasted nuts and mocha. The finish is rich and intense, with sweet and fruity notes of Christmas cake, vanilla custard, cherries, dark chocolate, honey and walnuts.
