Back in 1966, Jameson, Powers and Cork Distillers got together and formed the Irish Distillers group. This group had a real fascination with blended Irish Whiskey and in order to produce this they opened a new Midleton distillery in 1975 and these famous blends have been released annually since 1984 on a strictly limited basis. Midleton Very Rare 2022 Vintage Release is the creation of renowned Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman and is a combination of single pot still whiskey and single grain whiskeys aged between 12 and 33 years and matured in a lightly charred ex bourbon barrel. It has a nose of citrus, apple, chocolate, toffee and nutmeg. The palate has orange, custard, toffee and pot still spices with a long and full finish of oak and soft spice.
