Zuidam Distillers was one of the first distilleries in the Netherlands to start experimenting with whisky in the 1990s, and in 2005 the family-owned distillery released the first Dutch whisky to the market: Millstone. Millstone Gift Set Oloroso, Peated PX & 100Rye features three core expressions from Zuidam. Presented in an elegant wooden box, this set is perfect for gifting or tasting. The first of the trio is Millstone Oloroso Sherry, an unpeated single malt that has been aged for a minimum of 4 years in first- and second-fill Oloroso sherry barrels. The award-winning whisky has a fruity character with rich notes of dried fruit. Or try the refined smokiness of the lightly peated Millstone Peated PX. Aged in first- and second-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels, this single malt combines delicious rich notes of raisins and chocolate with soft tones of peat smoke. For something entirely different, there’s the Millstone 100Rye Whisky. This unique Dutch single rye whisky is distilled from 100% rye in small copper pot stills. The spirit has been aged for a minimum of 100 months (8,5 years) in new American oak barrels and is bottled at 100 proof. See what they did there? The whisky combines rich notes of citrus fruit and spices with delicate tones of honey and vanilla sweetness.
