Similarly to an artist collective—where artists come together to share inspiration and creativity—the single malts in La Maison du Whisky’s Artist Collective range are the result of a marriage of several casks. This edition’s highlighted artist is Yanis Khannoussi, whose minimalist paintings are built around the concept of duality. From the Speyside region comes the Mortlach 10 Years Old Artist Collective 2012. This single malt was distilled in 2012 and matured for 10 years, including a finish in first-fill sherry butts. The result is a rich and textured dram characterised by fruity sweetness and spices. On the nose, you’ll find aromas of citrus fruits, leather and cocoa. The palate brings exotic and woody notes, leading to a long and silky finish.
