Don’t worry, you did not forget about the existence of a distillery called ‘Mosstowie’. Mosstowie was a short-lived whisky range that was distilled at Miltonduff between 1964 and 1981, using a pair of Lomond stills. The distillery never released any official Mosstowie bottlings at the time, since it was produced to supply whisky for the increasingly popular blends. Mosstowie 40 Years Old Artist #11 1979 was released in 2021 for La Maison du Whisky’s 11th annual Artist range. This year the folks at LMDW have teamed up with French abstract artist Catherine Ludeau, who designed the bottles’ striking back labels. The whisky was distilled in 1979 and matured in bourbon barrel #12758 for over 40 years, before being bottled at 50.3%. Only 113 bottles of Mosstowie 40 Years Old Artist #11 1979 have been released.
