Japanese whisky giant Nikka operates two distilleries: Yoichi, founded in 1934, and Miyagikyo, founded in 1969. Traditionally, Yoichi’s whisky is intense and smoky, while Miyagikyo produces a lighter fruity malt. With the limited-edition Nikka Discovery series, we’re given a unique look into an alternate dimension where Yoichi is the gentle and mellow one, and Miyagikyo is bold and peaty. Nikka Miyagikyo Peated 2021 exquisitely combines Miyagikyo’s classic rich fruitiness with distinctive peaty notes, and leaves behind an estery hint in the aftertaste.
