In 1918, Masataka Taketsuru left his native Japan to follow his dream of becoming a master whisky maker. His years in Scotland made him into a brilliant craftsman and he would go on to produce the first genuine Japanese whisky and found the famous Nikka label. The Nikka Taketsuru 17 Years Old Pure Malt Origami Box bears his name and is a blend of whiskies from both the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. With aromas of sugar and caramel, a toffee, vanilla and spicy oak palette and a long, bold finish with lingering sweetness, this drop is a fitting tribute to the Father of Japanese Whisky.
