In 1918, Masataka Taketsuru travelled to Scotland to learn the art of whisky-making. Upon his return to Japan, he began developing the country’s first genuine whisky. In 1934, Masataka Taketsuru founded his first distillery in Yoichi, Hokkaido. This company was later renamed Nikka, which today is the second-largest producer of Japanese whisky. Nikka Taketsuru 21 Years Old Pure Malt Luxurious Edition is a 21-year-old blended malt from Nikka’s Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. The Luxurious Edition comes with an elegant wooden box.
