Part of this blend between Yoichi and Miyagikyo whiskies was aged in sherry casks. Most of the whisky was sourced from Miyagikyo, the rest came from Yoichi. It’s a non age statement expression that presumably aged for over ten years. It was bottled under the popular Nikka Taketsuru brand. In his 2020 Whisky Bible, Jim Murray rated it the best Japanese whisky of the year. That’s not a bad achievement at all!
