North British 34 Years Old The Single Cask 1989 Cask #89171 is a rare single cask bottling from the Edinburgh-based North British distillery, bottled by independent bottler The Single Cask. The single grain whisky was distilled on 12 December 1989 and matured for 34 years in an ex-bourbon barrel. It was bottled on 25 March 2024 at 42.9%. The nose offers aromas of soft vanilla, ripe tropical fruits, heather honey and charred oak. Ginger, cinnamon and black pepper are balanced by creamy fudge and shortbread biscuits, with hints of toasted pine nuts, milk chocolate and toffee. The finish is long and lush, with lingering vanilla and delicate oak. Only 87 individually numbered bottles of North British 34 Years Old The Single Cask 1989 Cask #89171 have been released.
