Oban Distillers Edition 2008 is an exquisite single malt from Oban, released as part of Diageo’s annual Distillers Edition range. Oban is the second smallest distillery within the Diageo stable. It is located right on the border between the West Highlands and the Hebrides, and flavour-wise the distillery’s single malt falls between the dry, smoky style of the islands and the lighter, sweeter malts of the Highlands. To underline its sea-laced flavours, Oban’s Master Distiller has chosen to finish the whisky in Montilla Fino casks. This dry, delicate cask wood beautifully enhances Oban’s distinctively graceful style. Oban Distillers Edition 2008 was distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2008 at 43%.
