A 1990s bottle of Old Bardstown bourbon, aged for 6 years and bottled at 80 proof. The bottle code states 93, meaning this bourbon was bottled in or shortly after 1993. The Old Bardstown brand was created in honor of the American Thoroughbred racehorse Bardstown, who in turn was named after the city of Bardstown, Kentucky. He only started racing at the age of four, but became one of the most successful older racehorses of the 1950s. The Old Bardstown brand is produced by Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, aka the Willett Distillery, and sourced from an undisclosed distillery.
