On September 2nd 1846, George Garvin Brown was born: one of the founders of the famous Brown-Forman distillery. Every year since 2002, on his birthday, Brown-Forman releases an Old Forester Birthday Bourbon to honor their founder. This is the 15th release in the series. The distillery went all out for the 170th anniversary of Brown’s birth. This bourbon was distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2016 at 97 proof. During its 12-year maturation, the whiskey was kept near the west-facing window of the warehouse, in order to add sunlight during the process. 14,400 bottles of this special bourbon were released, the largest release in the series thus-far.
