Awesome! Legendary Old Grand-Dad 114 Barrel Proof from the National Distillers era! According to some one of the best dusty bourbons out there… Old Grand-Dad was created by Raymond B. Hayden in the late 19th century. He named the brand after his grandfather Meredith Basil Hayden Sr., a well-known distiller in the 18th century, also known as the ‘Father of High Rye Bourbon’. The unmistakable portrait of Basil Hayden Sr. is depicted on each bottle. Old Grand-Dad was produced by National Distillers at the Old Grand-Dad Distillery until 1987, when Jim Beam purchased the brand and moved production to their Beam distillery. The Old Grand-Dad site is silent now, operating only as a warehouse facility.
