One of the saddest days in bourbon history was November 7, 1996 when the Heaven Hill distillery was destroyed by fire. 90000 barrels of bourbon caught fire that day, and in the aftermath of the fire a number of old Heaven Hill brands were discontinued. One of those was the Old Kentucky Rifle 4 Years Old Heaven Hill. This mild and mellow sour mash bourbon was only available in Germany and was probably made some time in the 1980s. These days this dusty old bourbon can be tricky to find, but here at Must Have Malts we’ve got you covered.
