Old Pulteney 25 Years Old is the successor of the Old Pulteney 21 Years Old, which was named World Whisky of the Year in 2012. The expression was introduced in 2017. The whisky first matured for 22 years in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, before being transferred to Spanish oak ex-Oloroso sherry butts and aged for another 3 years. On the nose, Old Pulteney 25 Years Old has heavy spices and bitter chocolate. The palate has a nice balance between sweet and spicy flavours, with notes of dark chocolate, vanilla, toffee, lemon and coconut. The finish is long and fruity.
