A beautiful, gorgeous old style Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Years Old 107 Proof Squat Bottle, distilled and bottled under supervision of Julian Van Winkle, Pappy Van Winkle’s grandson. It was distilled around 1984 in what was then called the Old Fitzgerald distillery, named after Pappy’s Van Winkle’s most popular Stitzel-Weller brand. The legendary Stitzel-Weller distillery was sold in 1972 and changed its name shortly after, but Julian was allowed to purchase whiskey for his Rip Van Winkle brand. This is an older Rip, bottled in or shortly after 1994.
