This stunning bottle of 10-year-old Old Rip Van Winkle bourbon was bottled in 2011 and exported to the UK by London based retailer Amathus. The Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Years Old Amathus is one of the first Van Winkle’s after they moved from the squat bottles to the now typical cognac-style bottles. Old Rip Van Winkle was originally distilled at the Stitzel-Weller distillery, but after its closure in 1992 its production moved to Buffalo Trace. Bottling is overseen by Julian Van Winkle III, the grandson of Julian ‘Pappy’ Van Winkle, who started the Stitzel-Weller distillery in 1935, on the day of the Kentucky Derby. Please note: the front label has a tiny mark, as is seen on the picture.
