Old Stagg 86 Proof 1972 is an amazing vintage bourbon from the George T. Stagg distillery (known today as Buffalo Trace). It was bottled at 86 proof in the 1972. The Buffalo Trace distillery was founded in 1869 by Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor Jr, under its original name ‘Old Fire Copper’ (O.F.C.). The distillery was acquired in 1878 by George T. Stagg, who renamed it after himself. Schenley bought the George T. Stagg Distillery in the 1930s and owned it until it was taken over by Sazerac in the 1990s.
