At a whopping 74.8% ABV, Plantation Extreme No. 4 Jamaica is some of the strongest rum ever made. It’s part of the fourth Plantation Extrême collection from the French bottler Plantation Rum, released in 2020. The rum, from the Jamaican Clarendon Distillery, was distilled in 1984 and matured for 36 (!) years. It went through Plantation Rum’s double ageing process, during which it was first matured in bourbon casks and then finished in Ferrand oak casks back in France. The colorful label is part of a panoramic artwork depicting rum merchants traveling from the Caribbean to Europe. If you collect all the bottles, you’ll have the entire painting!
