This retro bottle of Pony Express Kentucky Straight Bourbon was produced in the 1990’s in Bardstown, most likely by Heaven Hill. The brand is named after the Pony Express, a fast mail service between St. Joseph, Missouri, and Sacramento, California that relied on horse-mounted riders and could deliver letters in about 10 days. The service operated from April 1860 until the establishment of the transcontinental telegraph in October 1861. Despite its short existence, the Pony Express became a symbol of the Wild West.
