This limited-edition single malt matured for nearly half a century before it was bottled by Elixir Distillers (previously known as Specialty Drinks). Port Askaig is not a distillery: it is the name under which Caol Ila or Bunnahabhain whisky is sometimes released by independent bottlers, named after the nearby village of Port Askaig on the coast of Islay. The whisky is composed from five sherry butts, distilled in 1968 and aged for 45 years. They were then married together for one year and bottled in 2015 at 40.8%. Only 1200 bottles of Port Askaig 45 Years Old have been released.
