Rhum Neisson 2003 Fût Unique is a single cask rhum agricole from the Neisson distillery in Martinique. In contrast to rum (without the ‘h’), rhum agricole is made entirely from fresh sugarcane juice instead of molasses. The rhum was distilled in 2003 and aged in a single cask in the tropics, before being bottled at 46.9% ABV. The Neisson Distillery is located in Carbet, on the North Caribbean coast of the French island Martinique. It was founded in 1932 by the brothers Adrien and Jean Neisson, who bought the Thieubert house with 20 hectares of sugarcane. The distillery switched to organic farming in 2013, and is now run by Jean’s daughter, Claudine Neisson Vernant and her son, Grégory Vernant.
