The Lowlands distillery Rosebank lies on the banks of the Forth and Clyde canal between Edinburgh and Glasgow. Roses grew along those banks, giving name to the brand. The distillery closed in 1993, but lo and behold: Ian Macleod took over the brand from Diageo and the reopening is planned for 2022. Exciting! Until then we can still enjoy remaining stock from back in the day. The day in this case is from 1989. This Rosebank 1989-2013 Rare Old is pretty rare and pretty old. It’s bottled by Gordon & Macphail, that had it aged in refill sherry hogsheads.
